Pelorus Co-Founder Jimmy Carroll is running in The New York Marathon for Wildlife and Wild Places

We are thrilled to announce that Jimmy Carroll, Co-Founder of our major corporate benefactor, Pelorus, is raising funds to support our work by running in the 2024 New York Marathon.

With little time to prepare, please help Jimmy support wildlife and wild places through his sponsorship page.

“Mental health is a big part of why I take on these challenges. They always take me outdoors, into natural environments, which has been a key motivator for me. While the New York Marathon will be my first challenge in an urban landscape, I have been lucky to do some of my training in some amazing places including Iceland, Norway, and across the US.”

-Jimmy Carroll

Jimmy, who has tackled endurance challenges like the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Row and founding the Monaco bike ride, will run the New York Marathon on 3rd November in support of Pelorus Foundation. Despite a recent spinal deterioration diagnosis and only signing up to run the marathon last month, Jimmy is determined to complete the 26.2-mile race.

UPDATE

Jimmy ran the New York Marathon helping to raise funds to support conservation work, including a female-led conservation project. Our new project partner Shoe4Africa is running a community-led project aiming to mitigate human-wildlife conflict by reinforcing protected areas. Our support will help empower women and girls as environmental leaders.

Your support is fueling a powerful, community-driven movement in the Rift Valley. Led by Shoe4Africa’s Girls Empowerment Club and the S4A Women’s Domestic Violence Group, this two-month initiative tackles human-wildlife conflict head-on—protecting vital ecosystems from colobus monkeys and gazelles while empowering women and girls as environmental leaders.

With hands-on training, fence repairs, native tree planting, and awareness campaigns, this project will safeguard protected areas, educate communities, and inspire the next generation of conservationists. Thanks to your support during Jimmy’s run, we’re strengthening ecosystems, uniting communities, and championing female leadership for a greener future.

Sponsorship funds raised will support our work with grassroots project helping to protect endangered wildlife and combat the climate crisis. Every contribution makes a difference.

Thank You
